How have financial reserves in Cardiff changed

Primary schools

Cardiff's primary schools have on average a per pupil surplus of £167.80—15th in Wales. Five primary schools ended 2018-19 in deficit.

Secondary Schools

Six of Cardiff's 18 secondary schools ended 2018–19 in deficit. Currently Cardiff has an average per pupil deficit of -£26.94 in its secondary sector—ranked 14th in Wales. This shows a gradual improvement over recent years.

Special Schools

Cardiff's special schools have an average per pupil surplus of £2223 (third highest for the sector in Wales) and all are in surplus.
